Introduction
Standard Maps
Interactive Maps

CRKS contains two types of maps: Standard Maps and Interactive Maps.

Standard Maps

These are traditional maps, in the sense that they are visual representations only. While they contain no links to underlying GIS datasets (e.g. they are not georeferenced and can not be queried as they have no associated attribute data), the maps were created using GIS mapping software and portray relevent information generated from the GIS data (e.g. culvert map) available on this CD.

Interactive Maps

As the name implies, these maps allow you to further examine and explore the multitude of GIS data layers that are available on this CD. We have created nine ArcExplorer projects based on particular themes that you can open and explore and/or develop on your own. Each interactive map utilizes ArcExplorer 2.0 (CD/content/data_and_software/ArcExplorer/), a free ESRI GIS data viewer which is included on this CD. In order to start exploring these Interactive Maps, you must first install ArcExplorer onto your machine. To learn how to install ArcExplorer go to GIS Data - How To.
